The kids are as hilarious as ever.

Grey is fully two years old now, in the sense that he is more kid than baby. Sometimes I forget he likes to be rocked and cuddle, especially since he's not in the crib anymore. But he is still our cuddly boy. He is a rascal, too. Most nights we have to threaten him--and follow through--with time-outs outside in the dark by himself, taking away his "friends" (Teddy Bear, OX, Puppy, Cookie), or a single spank. He loves to do whatever Jane is doing, from drawing to wearing "dance shoes" (like she is today), to singing. It drives her nuts when he tries to sing with her, or say prayers along with her. And his little brother intuition is starting to kick in too--he'll take her toy or book and run away as fast as he can to get her attention or reaction (she cries or yells, often, and he doesn't tire of it. interesting). Grey loves to jump, wear rain boots, sing "beatles," sufjan stevens, and caspar babypants, or "primary" (songs). He also loves cars, Mr. Potato Head, and cooking. He puts his apron on whenever he seems me in mine and wants to help. Overall he is still a sweet, funny, good-natured little guy.
Jane is Grey's best friend, and continues to be imaginative and resourceful. She was delighted by Easter weekend and made it more exciting for everyone, especially Grey. She loves to change her clothes and play dress up. Today she is dressed in her black leotard, black leggings, white socks, and some tap shoes that are too small. She told me she likes being a tap dancer, and figured out what a tap dancing ballerina would look like: "she would wear a leotard--a black one--a tutu, tights, and tap shoes!" She has a delightful way of seeing the world and is working to figure out how it works with lots of questions and observations. She might be the most excited of all of us for her baby sister to come. She likes to hug my belly and sing to it and says almost daily, "Baby sister is my favorite in the family! I love everyone, but I really love her!" Jane tells us about her dreams, especially if they're bad, like last night. She dreamed a hippo accidentally bit off her finger. It wasn't a bad or scary hippo, but losing her finger that way certainly was disturbing. We get a kick out of her every day, and are grateful that she is obedient and wants to be good. She is a great example for all of us.

I don't know exactly why I like this picture--maybe because Jane was very insistent that we take a picture of the eggs we colored since we couldn't keep "her collection" forever. I wanted her in the picture, and there she is, with a far off look in her eyes.
And finally, I made bread that looked like this:

It looks like either it cloned itself, or one loaf didn't quite absorb its twin.

Well, at least your loaf now has the strength of a fully-grown loaf and a tiny baby loaf. :)
I love your updates on your kids. They are very cute. One day we'll be able to get together and meet them. And I love how excited Jane is for your baby girl to come. That is adorable.
How would bread even do that!?!?
Happy Easter to you all!!
you are so good to detail the small things. you will look back and smile :)
