Last week, Jane was playing pretend. She must have been unsure about some things her pretend friends were doing, because she kept saying, "I'm dubious about that."
Jane has entered the phase of really asking questions about everything. She has always been curious, but her search for knowledge has reached a new height. If she keeps this pattern up, she will definitely be "an expert" when she grows up. Still, it won't surprise me much if one of these days she responds to one of my off-the-cuff answers--perhaps about how butterflies fly or why there are handles on the ceiling of our minivan--with raised eyebrows and those four words: "I'm dubious about that."
