A Few of My Favorite Things: Seattle Edition

Blackberries in our backyard
Watching the salmon run at Ballard Locks
Music videos on the Seattle Channel
Vern Fonk insurance commercials
(yes, these are real)
The view of downtown Seattle from the ferry
Farmer's Markets
Riding or walking up or down the bike trail near our house
The path from our backyard that goes up to the powerlines
Getting on the freeway knowing someone will let you in
Trees, trees, everywhere
115 state parks, several near to us
Seeing Mount Rainier on a clear day
Walking around downtown Bellevue with the very rich
The catchy street and city names
Thai or Vietnamese food on every corner
Knowing we are two hours from Canada
Left arrows at 90% of the intersections
Tillamook cheese, sour cream, huckleberry yogurt, and ice cream (the cheese is excellent and more widely available; we had never seen yogurt or ice cream)
80 feels "hot" enough to go swimming
We know it can rain a lot, but people love it here and get outside anyway. Some even kayak to work.

I love your list! It makes me miss the northwest so much. I forgot to ask Brad how he likes living so close to Canada? I remember a time when he felt the need to throw Canadian money north, where it belonged. = )
